Day 3

Growing at the Feet of Śrī Kṛṣṇa

There is a natural tendency within us to look outward, to notice, to correct, and to wish that others change. We feel that if people behaved differently, if situations adjusted, or if things around us improved, life would feel more at ease. Without realising it, much of our energy moves in this direction. Yet even when we try, we find that nothing truly shifts as we expect. This creates a quiet frustration within, a sense that something is not in our hands. The heart, however, is not seeking control over others. It is seeking a space of steady growth, where it can become lighter, clearer, and more at peace within itself.

That growth begins the moment we come to the feet of Śrī Kṛṣṇa.

To live at His feet is to gently turn our attention inward. Instead of trying to shape the world, we begin to refine what is within us. A quiet understanding arises: “Let me become right within.” In this shift, we start noticing our own patterns, our reactions, our habits, and the ways in which we move through life. Not with harshness, but with a willingness to see clearly. As this seeing deepens, a natural process of letting go begins. What is unnecessary starts to fall away, and something more aligned begins to take its place.

No one can force this transformation upon us. Even the greatest teachers can only guide and inspire; they cannot make the change happen within another. Growth becomes real only when it is chosen from within. This responsibility is gentle, but it is ours alone. When we take even a small step with sincerity, Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s grace begins to support us in ways we may not always see, but can quietly feel. Often, what slows this growth is our dependence on how we are seen by others. We look for appreciation, for validation, for a sense of being recognised. But the world does not remain steady, it changes, it reflects differently at different times. If we depend on this, the mind cannot remain settled. But when we rest at the feet of Śrī Kṛṣṇa, something shifts within. We begin to value sincerity over recognition. If our intention is clear and our effort is honest, that itself becomes enough. His acceptance quietly replaces the need for all else. Growth, then, becomes simple. It does not ask for dramatic change, but for gentle awareness in everyday life. We may begin to notice small things, habits that feel unnecessary, moments where we are not fully truthful, or tendencies that disturb our inner peace. As we softly let go of these, a lightness begins to arise. The mind becomes clearer, and with that clarity, deeper understanding follows naturally. There is no need to see everything at once. What is visible now is enough to begin. But what we already recognise as untrue need not be carried further. Let the movement remain steady, to come closer to what is real, step by step, under His quiet guidance. In this, there is no pressure, only a gentle unfolding.

When we live in this way, offering our growth to Śrī Kṛṣṇa, a new strength begins to form. We no longer compare, we no longer try to control, and we no longer depend on others to feel complete. Instead, there is a quiet stability within, a natural sense of moving in the right direction, without force or strain. In this, the journey itself becomes peaceful. Growth is no longer something we chase, it becomes something we live, moment by moment, at His feet.

Today’s Sādhanā — Turning Inward for Growth: Today, gently observe where the mind moves outward to correct or expect from others. In those moments, pause and turn within. Ask softly, “What can I refine within myself right now?” Begin with what feels simple and clear. Before any action, inwardly offer it: “Śrī Kṛṣṇa, may this help me grow in truth.” Let your focus remain on your own inner movement.

Inner Bhāva: Do not be concerned with changing the world around you. Let your attention rest on becoming clear and aligned within. Offer your effort, your learning, and even your limitations at His feet. In that offering, allow growth to happen gently.

Reflection for Today: Am I trying to change others today, or am I quietly growing at the feet of Śrī Kṛṣṇa?

Gentle Reminder: True growth does not come from controlling what is outside, but from refining what is within. Take one sincere step, and let everything else unfold through His grace. Return again and again to His feet.

Mantra for the Day: Oṁ Paramātmane Namaḥ
